"The most intense conflicts, if overcome, leave behind a sense of security and calm that is not easily disturbed. It is just these intense conflicts and their conflagration which are needed to produce valuable and lasting results."
--Carl Jung
"Whenever you're in conflict with someone, there is one factor that can make the difference between damaging your relationship and deepening it. That factor is attitude."
--William James
"Conflict transformation is to envision and respond to the ebb and flow of social conflict as life-giving opportunities for creating constructive change processes that reduce violence, increase justice in direct interaction and social structures, and respond to real-life problems in human relationships."
--John Paul Lederach

"Why the Study of Conflict?"

Whether it's in your home, the government, places of worship, or an international regional dispute, all you need to do is turn on CNN or pick up the latest New York Times and you run into the story of conflict. The focus of my site is mainly in the area of international conflict and dispute resolution, or conflict transformation. My goal is to better understand conflict theory from a holistic interdisciplinary perspective so that I may put ideas into practice with real world problems in global affairs. .
